Indian Agriculture Seasons - Kharif, Rabi
There are two major cropping seasons in
Kharif Season - During the south-west monsoon (July-October).During this season, agricultural activities take place both in rain-fed areas and irrigated areas.Kharif crops are the one which are sowed generally in april to may and harvested after the monsoon rains e.g rice, cotton etc.
Rabi season - During the winter months, when agricultural activities take place only in the irrigated areas. Rabi crops are generally sown between October to February and harvested by June.
